Daido Life Insurance Company, Ltd. (CEO: Minoru Kudo, “Daido Life”) of the T & D Insurance Group and and justInCase, Inc, (CEO: Kazy Hata, “justInCase”) offers free COVID-19 Cover for Small and medium-sized enterprises（”SMEs”） ※1 starting today.
The number of new coronavirus infection cases continues to be high, with lingering concerns about risk of infection spread. According to the survey conducted by organization for SME SUPPORT JAPAN, about 30% of SMEs are either not putting in place any measures against coronavirus for workplaces, or not knowing about whether there will be any measures against coronavirus to be taken going forward. In addition, Daido Life’s survey shows that about 80% of SMEs are not implementing work from home policy due to various reasons such as difficulties of managing business partners remotely. A lot of SME employees have been working while feeling worried about infection.
Under these circumstances, Daido Life, which has been actively supporting SMEs on risk countermeasures, and justInCase, which has been developing innovative insurance with the use of cutting-edge technology, jointly launch this support project to give SMEs a little peace of mind by offering free insurance.
Specifically, Daido Life will contribute a fund (equivalent to insurance premiums up to ¥100 million) to offer justInCase’s COVID-19 Cover to SMEs for free for one year.
In addition, the profit (equivalent to the amount of insurance premiums subtracted claims and operating expenses) will be donated to medical institutions to support both SMEs and medical professionals. ※2
Daido Life and justInCase both hope that the new coronavirus will end as soon as possible, while we both will continue to implement various initiatives to support SMEs.
